A RUN-DMC reunion, Jill Scott, Drake added to Made in America fest

Reunited rap legends Run-D.M.C., as well as Drake, Philly's Jill Scott and Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell, have been added to the lineup of the Jay-Z-curated Made in America festival during Labor Day weekend on the Parkway.

Drake was previously announced, then unannounced from the bill (as Live Nation wanted to be able to sell tickets for his Susquehanna Bank Center show in June) but was always expected to take part in the multiday festival, which runs Sept. 1 and 2.

Run-D.M.C.'s performance is the first for Joseph "Run" Simmons and Darryl McDaniels since the 2002 murder of their longtime DJ, Jam Master Jay.

Single-day tickets go on sale at noon Friday, starting at $75 through Ticketmaster.com, where two-day passes are also still available.

The newly added acts also include The Hives, DJ Shadow, Otto Knows, Michael Woods and Burns.

Kate Marlys of PhillyPRGirl.com reported Tuesday on a rumor that Madonna will be a surprise performer at Made in America. The Material Girl has a show Aug. 28 at the Wells Fargo Center and has dates in Montreal and Quebec days later, but does have an off day on Sept. 2. It would make sense for Live Nation not to announce her on the bill while it tries to sell tickets for her Wells Fargo Center show.

Also, expect hometown hip-hop heroes The Roots to perform at some point during the festival, according to a source within the Roots organization.

A Live Nation rep did not return our inquiry on Madonna or The Roots.

Director Robert Luketic let Mayor Nutter call "Action" on the South Philly set of "Paranoia" Tuesday afternoon.

Nutter watched actors Richard Dreyfuss and Liam Hemsworth, who play father and son, shoot a scene in the corporate-espionage thriller.

Nutter spent time talking with Luketic, Dreyfuss, Hemsworth and Hemsworth's fiancée, Miley Cyrus, who was hanging on set at Bardascino Park at 10th & Carpenter.

The mayor told us Tuesday that it was great to meet Luketic and the actors and that he had grown up on Dreyfuss' films. "Each of them separately told me that this was their first time filming in Philadelphia and that it's easy to make movies here, everyone is welcoming, and they are blown away by the restaurant scene," Nutter told us.

He praised film-office chief Sharon Pinkenson for attracting movies to the city and called it "an economic winner for the city" whenever a film shoots here.

John's Roast Pork (Weccacoe & Snyder) has become a wild-card contestant in the Travel Channel's "Adam Richman's Best Sandwich in America" and will be seen on the series finale at 9 p.m. Aug. 15. Musician G. Love submitted John's sharp-provolone cheesesteak with long hots, fried onions, mayo and ketchup to the show, which selected the South Philly institution as a contender.

The roast pork with provolone and sautéed spinach from DiNic's at the Reading Terminal Market had already advanced in the contest.

John's owner, John Bucci Jr., is happy to be back at work full time. He had been working reduced hours for the past four years while battling leukemia and undergoing a bone-marrow transplant. Bucci is thankful for the support of his customers.

One recent customer was "Jackass" performer Jason "Wee-Man" Acuna, who stopped in last week for a cheesesteak.

"Restaurant Impossible" host Robert Irvine and producer and former "Double Dare" host Marc Summers held a season wrap party for the Food Network show Monday night at The Twisted Tail (509 S. 2nd). The party of 60 sat upstairs, where cocktails flowed freely and appetizers such as lamb sliders, crab cakes and chicken skewers were served.

Comcast SportsNet's Phillies sideline reporter Gregg Murphy, former police chief John F. Timoney and Montgomery County D.A. Risa Vetri Ferman took part in Sunday's 25th annual Tour de Shore, the annual bike ride from the Irish Pub (20th & Walnut) to the bar's sister spot in Atlantic City. New Jersey Judge Lee Solomon, NBC10's Deanna Durante, Talk Radio 1210 AM's Michael Smerconish and Maureen Faulkner, widow of slain police officer Daniel Faulkner, also participated in the ride, which raised about $500,000 for the Irish Pub Children's Foundation.

In other bike-charity news, Glenside native and Philmont Christian graduate Mack Lloyd, and four friends who, like Lloyd, just graduated from Grove City College, near Pittsburgh, hit town Friday on their Seattle-to-New York bike ride, which they hope will raise $25,000 for a Grove City College scholarship fund. The public is invited to meet Lloyd, Jake Loosararian, Will Moyer, Ryan Herman and driver Jamie Schleicher from 6 to 9 Saturday evening at Lloyd's home at 157 Cliveden Ave. in Glenside.
