NBC News yesterday made it official: Ann Curry will replace the departing Meredith Vieira as co-anchor of the "Today" show.

Curry, who's been the show's news anchor since 1997, has also anchored "Dateline NBC" and served as Brian Williams' primary backup on "The NBC Nightly News." But she may spend as much time in the air as she does on it: She's reported from everywhere from Darfur, Sudan, to the South Pole. Last week, she was in Pakistan. Here's hoping five mornings a week at Rockefeller Center won't bore her silly.

TCM remembers Cooper

On Friday, TCM will honor actor, producer and director Jackie Cooper, who died last week at 88, by showing nine of the films from his child-star days, beginning at 6 a.m. with the 1935 "Dinky," with Mary Astor and Roger Pryor, and finishing at 6:30 p.m. with "The Champ," with Wallace Beery.

'Damages' on DVD

With "Damages" moving from FX to DirecTV, some people will likely be waiting for DVDs from now on. If you're already in that habit, the DVD of Season 3 - the last to be shown on FX - goes on sale July 12.

More 'After'

E! has ordered a second season of "After Lately," its mockumentary series about the goings-on at "Chelsea Lately." *
