Queen B dons traditional-ish African duds in a layout designed to pay tribute to music legend Fela Kuti. According to the New York Daily News, B got the idea after watching Fela!, the Broadway show coproduced by hubby Jay-Z.

"The designs are all reflective of the African influence on fashion this season," the mag says in a statement. The inspiration for makeup, the mag says, "came from several African rituals during which paint is used on the face. We find the images beautiful and inspiring."

Three years ago, L'Oreal was accused of lightening Queen B's skin tone in its cosmetic ads. The corp. denied the reports.

Of things cupidinous in Celebdom

The headline, from E! News, is tantalizing: "Is

Kathy Griffin

Dating . . .

?!"

A sexy image: D-List funnychick and a stick o' deodorant!

E! says Griffin has been "spending some serious time" with Isaiah Mustafa, former NFL practice squad wide receiver and star of the smelly TV ad "The Man Your Man Could Smell Like."

(Dude, I spend serious time with my accountant, but I ain't marrying him.)

A Source would not characterize the modality of the duo's interaction as "romantic," instead settling for the vague "they're getting to know each other." Mustafa's rep tells E! the pair "are just good friends."

The reception was all ready, the cake and flowers had been ordered. Yet, "every time we got to the guest list," she says, "it was like, 'Oh my God, I hate half these people.' Nothing personal." Ouch!

The business of being funny . . .

. . . can sure be expensive.

Famed funnybone-ticklers the Farrelly Brothers - Bobby, 54, and Peter, 52 - use a cute pop-cult reference in their new Owen Wilson-starring sex comedy, Hall Pass: Each new day is announced by that distinctive double-tap noise used on Law & Order. The Bros. had to pay a few bucks for rights to that sound effect.

That " 'dunt, dunt' cost us $200,000," Peter tells USA Today. "We figured it would be 10 grand. We could have saved money with one 'dunt,' but one 'dunt' didn't work. It's worth the money every time it comes on."

Then Gaga asked an appreciative crowd to give Liza a standing O. (Have any of Gaga's teeny-bopping fans ever heard of Liza?)
