"Jon and Kate should get divorced more often," quips the Hollywood Reporter's James Hibberd, reporting that Monday's "Jon and Kate Plus 8" episode dealing with their split drew a record 10.6 million viewers, the most of any program, cable or broadcast, that night.

 

ABC goes digital on Iran

 

Adding to its coverage of the crisis in Iran, ABC's "Nightline" has launched a daily half-hour program online at ABCNews.com and at ABC News Now, a 24-hour network available across broadband, mobile and cable platforms.

It was, of course, ABC's coverage of a different crisis in Iran three decades ago that led to creation of "Nightline" in the first place.

 

MTV's call to service

 

In conjunction with first lady Michelle Obama's announcement of the "United We Serve" campaign, MTV's set up a Web site, Serve.MTV.com that it's describing as "kind of like a Craigslist for community service."

 

Some 'Secret'

 

The second-season premiere Monday of ABC Family's "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" set a new record for both the show and the network, with 4.7 million viewers, 2.9 million of them between 12 and 34 years old, ABC Family announced yesterday. *
