Tiny tasters gave Froose mixed reviews. While some children blanched at its thick, nectarlike consistency, others raved. One preschooler loved the beverage so much, she asked for all three flavors - Playful Peach, Perfect Pear and Cheerful Cherry - mixed together.

Froose is available at Acme stores. A 4-pack of 4-ounce boxes is $2.79; on sale until July 15, 2 (4-packs) for $5.

Molded mod ice bucket

Made from polyurethane foam, the same material in home freezers, this clever design keeps ice cold for hours and will not sweat, making it safe for any surface. Another handy feature is the ice tongs that double as a lid handle.

From Built, the 3-quart bucket is available in black, red and leaf green, $30, at Open House Living, 107 S. 13th St., 215-922-1415.

Chocolate chip libretto

In her younger days, Bonnie Corsaro, 66, of Villanova, sang opera with the New York City Opera. Now she listens to her favorites as she bakes her addictive, crispy chocolate chip cookies, sold under the label "Bonnie's Best."

"There is something so restful about making something that smells so good and tastes so good and makes people so happy," she said.

She developed the recipe when her father, who hated chewy cookies, was ill; she worked for years to perfect the flat and crunchy wafer. She won't reveal the recipe, except to say she uses more brown sugar than white.

Bonnie's Best, chocolate chip, oatmeal, and more, $6.30 for six, at Capogiro, 13th and Sansom and 20th and Sansom.
