The Faith in the Future Foundation, which manages 17 Catholic high schools for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, said Wednesday it will seek a replacement for founding CEO Samuel Casey Carter, who will leave Dec. 31.

Carter and the board recently completed work on plans to further strengthen school operations, and both recommended that a new CEO be chosen to implement them.

“Casey’s contributions over the last five years have been substantial and his vision for Catholic education…has served as a powerful motivator for our strategy going forward,” said H. Edward Hanway, board chair of the foundation.

Carter said he was leaving to pursue other career opportunities.
