Temple University news website wins coveted award

Philadelphia Neighborhoods, a news website run by Temple University's Department of Journalism, snagged a coveted Eppy Award, Editor & Publisher magazine announced Wednesday.

A news website run by Temple University's Department of Journalism snagged a coveted award on Wednesday.

PhiladelphiaNeighborhoods.com was named the nation's best college newspaper website in this year's Eppy Awards competition, Editor & Publisher magazine announced.

The site beat out finalists from Arizona State University, the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism, and Syracuse University.

A publication of Temple's Multimedia Urban Reporting Lab, Philadelphia Neighborhoods features the work of the university's undergraduate journalism students and is overseen by associate professor George W. Miller III.

It was also named best website at last year's Keystone Student Press Awards.
