Sixteen students have been suspended from a Fishtown elementary school following a series of "minor incidents," school district officials confirmed Friday.
The students, ranging in grade from third through fifth, attend Alexander Adaire School, located on Palmer Street near Thompson.
District spokeswoman Chanice Savage said the school investigated the situations, which took place last week, and were able to identify all students involved on Thursday. She said 16 students were suspended and will be reinstated following a mandatory parent conference.
Fox29 first reported the suspensions, claiming the students were accused of gang affiliation.
Savage did not elaborate on the nature of the incidents, but said there were no serious injuries and no police involvement.
