New degrees in picture at BCCC

Associate degrees in photography, history, and exercise science now are available at Bucks County Community College, the school has announced.

NEWTOWN Associate degrees in photography, history, and exercise science now are available at Bucks County Community College, the school has announced.

In addition, the school has added early-childhood education and medical-assistant certificate programs.

Starting with the fall semester, students can begin earning the degrees, designed for transfers to four-year colleges and universities, and the certificates, aimed at getting students ready to enter the workforce.

Both the history and exercise-science degrees require 60 credits, and photography, 62. Students have to amass 30 credits for the certificates.

About 10,000 students attend the 50-year-old school, which has an open-admissions policy and requires no SATs.

The college has five campuses, with about 60 percent of the students at the Newtown campus on Swamp Road. The college also has a virtual campus, www.bucks.edu/e-resources/virtual-campus.
