OXFORD Lincoln University received a $73,000 grant to give local students need-based scholarships, it announced last week.

The grant, given by W.W. Smith Charitable Trust, allows the university to offer scholarships to full-time students from Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Philadelphia, and Camden Counties. The scholarships will range from $2,000 to $7,000 each.

The trust donated for the same scholarships last year, but this year increased the amount by $5,000.

The money "continues to allow deserving students to afford a quality education," said Valerie Harrison, then acting president of the university. - Justine McDaniel
