Villanova grads earn fellowships
RADNOR Two Villanova University graduates have received the two-year Skadden Fellowship, a program that brings legal services to low-income residents, the school announced.
Jonathan Sgro, who graduated from Villanova's Law School in 2013, and Kristen Valosky, a Villanova graduate in her third year at Georgetown University Law Center, are among 28 law students and judicial clerks chosen for the 2015 fellowship year.
Sgro, of Chester Springs, currently a law clerk to Jerome B. Simandle, chief judge of the U.S. District Court for New Jersey, plans to work at Community Legal Services of Philadelphia, a nonprofit that provides free legal service to low-income residents. He will focus on families facing foreclosure.
Valosky, of Media, will work on a medical-legal partnership between the SeniorLAW Center in Philadelphia and Living Independently for Elders, addressing legal needs of low-income seniors.
