Kimmel's the place for grads

Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine will graduate 257 doctors at its 117th commencement ceremony at 9 a.m. June 1 at the Kimmel Center. Mayor Nutter will offer the commencement address and will be awarded an honorary doctor of laws degree.

In addition to its main campus on City Avenue, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine operates four urban health-care centers in Philadelphia and one in rural Sullivan County. It also has a branch campus in Gwinnett County, Ga.

Peirce College will confer 507 bachelor and associate degrees at its June 5 commencment at 7 p.m. at the Kimmel Center. Maj. Gen. Jessica L. Wright, adjutant general of the Pennsylvania Army and Air National Guard, is to be the speaker.

Cardinal Justin Rigali and Sister Celine Warnilo will speak to graduates of Holy Family University on May 23 at the Kimmel Center as the recipients of honorary degrees. Warnilo is the treasurer of CSFN Mission & Ministry Inc. and provincial superior of the former Immaculate Conception province of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. A chart published yesterday listing commencement speakers in the area incorrectly listed the Holy Family speaker.
