The Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced a plan on Jan. 6, 2012 to close four high schools and merge and close 45 elementary schools. On Friday, Feb. 17, the archdiocese announced that 18 schools got a reprieve. On Feb. 24, the four high schools learned they would also stay open.
