Truck Stop: iPho Son's Kitchen

The truck: Snazzy-looking black outfit on Drexel University's campus serving up Southeast Asian dishes with - obviously - a focus on pho.

The man: Owner/chef Ca Son said he's been cooking for about eight years, influenced by his parents' Vietnamese and Cambodian roots, and the dishes he grew up on. "I incorporate my own technique," Son said. "I make it more Americanized." He's had the truck for almost three years, the last two at Drexel.

Menu: On a cold day, Son recommends the spicy pho. On a hot day, he suggests the lemongrass chicken. It's served over rice with a small salad for a very reasonable $6. Other items include banh mi sandwiches (beef, chicken, pork, or tofu), vegetarian spring rolls, shrimp rolls, and Thai chili chicken wings, all for $5.

Everything else: Is $6, including the pho (beef, chicken, or seafood); beef or chicken skewers with rice and spring roll; grilled BBQ with rice; sriracha mayo shrimp with rice; grilled chili tofu with rice; and grilled lemongrass lamb with rice.

Bubble tea: Yeah, they have that, too, with tapioca boba pearls. Wide range of flavors, including papaya, banana, watermelon, lychee, mango, ice coffee, green and Thai tea, and honeydew. It's $3.50 per cup.

Location and hours: Usually at 33rd and Arch Streets. Monday through Friday, about 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the summer; 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. the rest of the year.
