Truck Stop: Troy

TROY

What to eat: Mediterranean meat? Yes, please. Beef, chicken, kofte (ground meat) and gyro. Over rice with a mini-salad on the side, or in a wrap. Topping options include white tzatziki, barbecue and hot sauces - and there's nothing wrong with asking for all three. Or try grape leaves stuffed with rice, onions, pine nuts, currants, fresh dill and mint. It's vegetarian. (Warning: This may be an acquired taste for some).

Cost: Main items priced from $4.50 to $5.50. Portions are large. The stuffed grape leaves are $2.50.

Don't miss: The chicken wrap was satisfactory, but my fellow food trucker went with the beef kebab over rice. That was a step up, with tender, well-seasoned beef.

Find it: Troy has a cart at 38th and Spruce and a truck at 40th and Locust.

Look for: One of the coolest-looking - or is it hottest-looking? - trucks in Philly. It's covered in flames.

Nice touch: The meats are flame-broiled, not cooked on a flat grill, which gives the food a slightly charred, smoky taste. Co-owner Tina Fnu mans the flames. It's good. Go with it.
