Germantown man charged in shooting outside Target in NE Philly

Tyrell Wright, 30-year old male from the 400 block of East High Street is charged with two counts of attempted murder and related offenses in the shooting incident at a Northeast Target store last Friday.

The suspect in last Friday's shooting outside a Northeast Philadelphia Target store has surrendered to police, investigators said Monday.

Tyrell Wright, 30, of  the 400 block of East High Street in Germantown, was taken into custody Friday night and was charged with two counts of attempted murder and related offenses in connection with the 3:30 p.m. shooting in front of the Target store at Bustleton and Bleigh Avenues, across from the Roosevelt Mall.

Police said the shooting happened after the victim, a 29-year-old man, saw a fight outside the store between a friend of his and the suspect. The victim confronted Wright, who responded by taking out a handgun and firing at both, wounding the victim in the back.

The victim was taken in critical condition to Aria Health-Torresdale Campus. He remained there Monday in stable condition.
