Shock: Pay inequality
Having boy parts is awesome.
So awesome that Ashton Kutcher, who is a boy, was paid three times as much as his costar Natalie Portman for the 2011 romcom No Strings Attached. So reveals Portman, who points out that the pic was her star vehicle and had her name first in the credits.
"I wasn't as [peeved] as I should have been," Portman tells Marie Claire U.K. "I mean, we get paid a lot, so it's hard to complain. But the disparity is crazy."
At least Portman has the juice to complain about the situation to a Supreme Court justice.
"I remember talking to Ruth Bader Ginsburg about it," she says. "Compared to men, in most professions, women make 80 cents to the dollar. In Hollywood, we are making 30 cents to the dollar."
She loves her weekends
Selena Gomez is enjoying life after Justin Bieber with help from The Weeknd, whose human name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye. E! News has posted pics of the pair on a date at L.A. hot spot Giorgio Baldi.
"They were there for three hours! Just the two of them," Anonymous Insider tells E! "They came out and were so happy. . . . They were hugging and kissing." (Why do unnamed sources always sound so sappy?) So, in the moment of passion, does Selena whisper, "Oh, my Weeknd" in his ear or does she go with "Abel"?
Sasha Obama was studying
The blogosphere has been going nuts with speculation about Sasha Obama's whereabouts. Where was the younger first daughter Tuesday night when President Obama delivered his farewell speech?
She had an exam at school Wednesday morning, a White House official told CBS News. So she stayed in Washington while the rest of the family went to Chicago for the speech.
On stage, her dad paid homage to Sasha and sister Malia. "Under the strangest of circumstances, you have become two amazing young women," he said. "You are smart and you are beautiful. But more importantly, you are kind and you are thoughtful and you are full of passion."
