Sheen v. Rossi: The full story

Charlie Sheen's ex-fiancée, porn star Scottine Ross or Brett Rossi, 26, has taken out an emergency order of protection against him, days after a recording surfaced in which he allegedly threatens to have her killed by a hit man. Her lawyer, David Ring, tells USA Today the police see the tape "as an important piece of evidence" in their criminal investigation of Sheen.

"It's not just his typical bluster," says Ring. "I heard [the tape], and it's legitimate."

Sheen and Rossi's story reads like an X-rated thriller. A lawsuit she filed against him in December says they became engaged in November 2013, shortly after he engaged (ahem) her for a sexual tryst for a $10,000 fee.

They broke up nine months later, after Sheen forced her to have an abortion in fear he'd pass on HIV to the baby, says the suit, which claims Sheen reneged on a promise to compensate her with $1 mil. Sheen claims she is trying to extort him. A judge has kicked the suit to arbitration.

News you can use

David Duchovny, 55, once a Ph.D. candidate at Yale in literature (take that, James Franco!) knows the power of expletives. The full title of his novel, Bucky [bleep] Dent can't be mentioned in polite company. So it was all bleeps when he plugged the book on Stephen Colbert's show. . . . West Coaster Conan O'Brien will beam his TBS chat show from Harlem's Apollo Theater the week of Oct. 31.
