Sandra Bullock's new gal

Consummate gal next door Sandra Bullock has adopted 3-year-old Laila (pronounced Lila), she revealed exclusively to People mag.

"When I look at Laila, there's no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here," Bullock said about the lil' one she adopted from the Louisiana foster care system.

Bullock already has one babe, the so-cute-it-hurts 5-year-old Louis, who also originally hails from Louisiana. Turns out Laila's arrival was Louis' idea. He "spearheaded the whole journey," Bullock said.

They're already best buds. Their personalities are "as different as night and day," Bullock said. "Where Louis is the quiet watcher and doesn't need to be the showman, Laila is the performer." She also "has fallen madly in love with Bruno Mars and knows all the words to the videos - that are appropriate! - and the only way to get her to go to sleep is to show her photos of Bruno and tell her he called and wants to know if she's going to bed."

Couldn't ya just plotz?

Chris Brown's bad week

Chris Brown, the enfant terrible of R&B, is surfing another wave of bad publicity. We say: Deserved.

First up, a scheduled Tuesday appearance on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah was canceled after rumors swirled that Noah's staffers objected to having Brown on. "The show hopes to reschedule Chris for a future appearance," a rep told the Washington Post. Brown was replaced by Nick Cannon, star of Spike Lee's new flick, Chi-Raq, in theaters and streaming on Amazon Friday.

Brown's bad week continued when Australian authorities said they would likely not grant him a visa to tour down under because of a criminal conviction for assaulting pop star Rihanna. Brown had to cancel his tour.

We're weeping mad crocodile tears for you, Chris.
