Leonardo DiCaprio to run U.N.

Well, that might be a slight exaggeration. But the United Nations has, indeed, bestowed an honor on the Inception star.

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday named DiCap a Messenger of Peace. He joins 11 other boldfacers including Stevie Wonder, Michael Douglas, George Clooney, and Jane Goodall.

"I feel a moral obligation to speak out at this key moment in human history," said DiCap, who next week is hosting an informal climate change conference at the U.N.

Streisand & Elvis

Barbra Streisand's new LP, Partners, due Wednesday, features duets with a host of male singers, including John Legend, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Michael Bublé, and Blake Shelton.

She even does a virtual duet with Elvis. "To sing with [him] kind of virtually, around his track, was very kind of special to me, 'cause I thought he was so special," Babs tells Sky News. Why are all her co-singers male? "I like men," she tells USA Today. "Men are easier to deal with than women - most of the time."

Gossip petits fours

Eva Mendes, 40, and Ryan Gosling, 33, people who actually can act, on Friday welcomed a Yet-to-Be-Named baby girl. . . . Guess all the press about its casting woes paid off: The Season 18 premiere of ABC's retooled The View on Monday drew 3.9 mil total viewers, making it the best since Rosie O'Donnell first joined the cast in 2006.

Rosie on losing weight

Rosie O'Donnell, who has lost more than 50 pounds, says she feels a mix of emotions. "The fact that I look so different has been difficult and unexpected," she tells ABC News. "Everyone assumes that obese people would just be jumping for joy that they were healthier and thinner . . . . But it's also filled with a lot of emotional turbulence you wouldn't expect."
