Hitched in Hyannis Port

Robert Kennedy Jr. married Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm; Suburgatory) on Saturday at the home of Ethel Kennedy in Hyannis Port, Mass. It's Hines' second marriage and Kennedy's third; he has six children, she one. The splicing was at Ethel's, and then the party moved over to the house of deceased senator Teddy Kennedy within Kennedystan. RFK Jr. and Hines were introduced by, wouldn'tcha know, Larry David, whose wife Hines played on Curb, and may play again, the way the show goes. Larry just kept introducing them, once, twice, three times. Finally, a slowwww bingo!

Marveling at Marvel

It's a Marvel year for the movies!! Guardians of the Galaxy, yet another Marvel comix epic, destroyed the weekend box-office, according to studio estimates. GOTG hoovered up a surprising $94 million, making it the highest-grossing debut for a film in August (often a somnolent filmic month), by a lot! Reflect with us on all the Marvel films to hit numero uno this year: The Amazing Spider-Man 2; then X-Men: Days of Future Past; and then Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And it ain't gonna stop. Next year it's The Avengers: Age of Ultron and also Ant-Man. And - now, this is confidence! - a sequel to Guardians is already slated for 2017.

Oh, yeah, other films were shown over the weekend, and a dismal, humble lot they were, too: (2) Lucy, $18.3 mils; (3) Get On Up, $14 mils; (4) Hercules, $10.7 mils; (5) Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, $8.7 mils; (6) Planes: Fire & Rescue, $6.4 mils; (7) The Purge: Anarchy, $5.5 mils; (8) Sex Tape, $3.5 mils; (9) And So It Goes, $3.3 mils; (10) A Most Wanted Man, $3.3 mils.

Strahan single again

On Friday, Michael Strahan (Live! With Kelly and Michael) announced through a rep's statement that his five-year engagement with Nicole Murphy (of Hollywood Exes and ex of Eddie Murphy) had ended. They'd had nine children (four from Strahan's previous outings and five from hers) between them.

Selfie counterattack

Now here's how to use selfies in PR warfare. Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries), having dumped/been dumped by bf Ian Somerhalder, became the floozy in the newsies, linked tabloidally with more men than the X and Y chromosomes. So Nina fights back! She Instagrams a selfie with lotsa guys - her costars Matt Davis, Joseph Morgan, Steven R. McQueen, and Zack Roerig - and the caption "Apparently I have SOOOO many boyfriends. Here's four more. I'm so busy. #tabloidsillyness."

Gregory gone?

NBC's David Gregory, currently host of Meet the Press, may be moving on. MTP has been ailin' audiencewise, and rumors say he recently visited CNN, auditioning for a prime-time show.

They still like each other!

Think Jay Z and Beyoncé are on the rocks? Well, that kiss and longggg hug at the end of Sunday's show in L.A., and that arm-in-arm exit after the show-ending "Forever Young," all looked mighty persuasive. . . .
