Sideshow: ‘Teen Mom 2’ star has a meltdown

One of the stars of MTV's Teen Mom 2 has been arrested in South Carolina and charged with breaching the peace.

Jail records show 21-year-old Jenelle Lauren Evans was booked into the Horry County jail just after 5 p.m. Saturday. She was released an hour later.

Police say they were called Saturday afternoon about a man and woman yelling outside a North Myrtle Beach home. Evans' boyfriend told police she locked him out. He agreed to go for a walk and cool off, so officers left.

Shortly after, they were dispatched again and reportedly found the boyfriend had climbed into the house through a window. Police handled the situation before trying to leave, but Evans started cursing loudly and refused to stop, at which point she was arrested, authorities said.

She was also arrested this year in North Carolina on drug and assault charges and is still on probation.

Miley Cyrus headlined the annual Jingle Ball concert at Madison Square Garden, performing her hits "Wrecking Ball" and "We Can't Stop" in a shimmery red ensemble with sheer white top in which she resembled a Christmas ornament.

Lindsay Lohan introduced the singer Friday night, saying she loves that Cyrus is being "herself."

Also on hand were Selena Gomez (who had some anger-inducing issues with technical problems), Enrique Iglesias, and Robin Thicke, who wondered, "I wonder who Miley Cyrus will twerk on tonight?" (Answer: Nobody.)

Jason Derulo, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Fall Out Boy, Austin Mahone, and Ariana Grande also performed at the festive event.

Undaunted hobbits trumped princesses at the multiplex.

Per studio estimates Sunday, Warner Bros. Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was No. 1 at the weekend box office with $73.7 million, besting last weekend's No. 1 film, Disney's animated fable Frozen.

Melting down to the No. 2 position, Frozen earned $22.2 mil in its third weekend, bringing its impressive overall domestic ticket total to nearly $164.4 million.

Despite its first-place position, Hobbit fell short of topping its prequel's debut. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which opened this same weekend last year, took in $84.6 million.

Lionsgate's holiday-themed Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas came in third place with $16.2 million.

Another Lionsgate film, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, earned $13.2 million for the fourth-place slot. To date, Catching Fire has grossed $739.9 million, surpassing the worldwide box office total for The Hunger Games, which took in $691 million.

Disney's superhero sequel Thor: The Dark World continues to thrive as it remained in the top five with $2.7 million, bringing its domestic total to $198.1 million.

In its second weekend, Relativity Media's redemption drama Out of the Furnace, starring Christian Bale and Casey Affleck, dropped to the sixth-place position with $2.3 million after opening in third place.

Disney's comedy Delivery Man, with Vince Vaughn in the lead, dropped in at No. 7 in its fourth weekend at the box office with $1.9 million, bringing its domestic total to $28 million.

The Weinstein Co.'s Philomena, starring Judi Dench, who received a best-actress Golden Globe Awards nomination for her performance as a nun in search of her son, landed in the No. 8 spot at the weekend box office with $1.8 million.
