"Active, intelligent, and articulate" are words that come to mind when describing Nasir. The 14-year-old has a charming smile that draws people to him. He likes to learn new things and to keep busy. He is involved in a variety of activities including playing basketball and football. He also enjoys testing his skill at video games, and likes to watch action and comedy movies and spend time with his friends.Enrolled in the seventh grade, he attends regular education classes and earns high grades. He gets along well with his teachers and classmates. Nasir is already thinking about his future. He would love to be president when he grows up. He also would like to have the "biggest car." But for now, finding a forever family is his top priority. He wants a family that is "fun, fair, and firm." Nasir has much potential but he cannot achieve it alone. He needs a patient, committed family that will provide a structured environment for him and will guide him in the years ahead. He is close to his siblings and grandmother and the contact should be maintained.
If Christian had three wishes, they would be to own a home, see his family more often, and have a job that would make him wealthy. The 13-year-old enjoys playing tennis, listening to gospel music, watching movies, and planning for his future, which he hopes includes a career as an FBI agent or a police officer. He also likes to read a variety of books. A friendly teen, he gets along well with adults. Christian is enrolled in regular eighth-grade classes. His favorite subjects are reading and writing. His teachers say that although he is smart, he struggles with homework in some classes because of lack of motivation.

Hanna is an adorable 9-year-old. Very smart, artistic and friendly, she enjoys being active. She is eager to learn new things and looks forward to going to school, where she benefits from special-education services. Hanna has endured a great amount of trauma in her young life and her experiences have left her confused and angry. However, she is also very resilient and tenacious in her desire to learn. To reach her potential, Hanna needs the unconditional love, support, and consistency of a permanent family. She hopes for a family that will understand her struggles and want to help her achieve a happy life. She is eligible for financial and medical assistance.

Monday’s Child: ‘I’m terrific, smart, and helpful’

Kareem, who recently celebrated his 11th birthday, has no difficulty in describing himself. “I’m terrific, smart, and helpful,” he declares. He is also very definite about his future career. “I want to be a firefighter,” he says, “so I can rescue people from fires.” Currently in the third grade, Kareem earns good grades. Music and gym are his favorite subjects.

Justin says that what he likes most about himself is the way he acts, the way he reads, and the way he is nice to others. Always on the go, the 7-year-old is involved in many activities, including singing, playing video games, and watching cartoons. He is also fond of sports, especially basketball and bowling. Justin loves his bedroom’s astronomy theme and he enjoys learning about the solar system and the planets. In school, he attends second grade and is a good student. His favorite subjects are math, computer, and gym.

Friendly and eager to please, Zyann is a very social 11-year-old who makes friends easily. Like many other preteens, Zyann delights in dressing up. She looks forward to going to church on Sundays and showing off her outfits. Zyann loves to sing and dance and spend time with her sister, Tyanna, often braiding her hair. The sisters are very close and Zyann will do anything to protect and please her younger sister. Zyann and Tyanna receive special education services in school, where they benefit from the small class size and individual attention.

LaKyisha is an appealing 14-year-old with a smile that draws people to her. Like other teenage girls, she delights in shopping. Other favorite activities include going to the movies, watching television, eating out, and singing using her karaoke machine.

Terrance is a sociable 17-year-old who enjoys doing puzzles, bowling, swimming, and using the computer. He is willing to try new activities and taking part in group games, patiently waiting his turn.

Quatrel is a handsome 11-year-old with a winning smile. He is athletic and enjoys the outdoors. One of his strengths is his great ability to think in terms of visual images. Because of this, he can create amazing things with Legos. He is also adept at playing video games.

Nasmeir, 12, has a great imagination that is evident when he plays games. He loves listening to music, especially pop and rhythm and blues. Other favorite pastimes including engaging in outdoor activities and riding his bike and scooter.

Talented teen has her mind set on college

Zhaniah would like you to know that she is a very dramatic and talented young lady. Verbal and articulate, the 17-year-old is creative and enjoys writing short stories and poetry. Compassionate and nurturing, she works well with younger children. Zhaniah also likes to read, knit, and sing. She has auditioned for national television vocal competition programs.
