Nicki Minaj sets the Daily News trending; Woodill has web series

Also: Vittoria Woodill talks fashion and tacos on TV.

In yesterday's column, I wrote about how Nicki Minaj was caught cuddling up with North Philly rapper Meek Mill after Friday's Wale concert at the TLA.

The couple has been teasing a relationship for some time, with Mill guesting on two songs on Minaj's new album, "The Pinkprint," and throwing out the line "Baddest bitch in the game wearing my chain, I'm ready," on his new track, "The Get Back (Freestyle)."

But a tipster let me know that the relationship was not just a tease.

The outspoken - and, let's be honest, fabulous - Minaj put in her own two cents. Yesterday she tweeted "The Philadelphia Daily News" along with three emojis: the weary face, the see-no-evil monkey and a heavy heart.

The weary face and heart are pretty self-explanatory, but the see-no-evil monkey has a signifier of "I don't want to see that."

After much careful consideration, I've come to the conclusion that Minaj is simply weary of people looking into her love life, but she's still got love for the People Paper.

Furthermore, Minaj got "The Philadelphia Daily News" trending on Twitter in the region. Old media's not dead, it just needs a little infusion of Minaj.

CBS3's Woodill's sweet side gig

CBS3 traffic gal Vittoria Woodill has a side gig as operator of the blog Polished for Pennies. But she's expanding beyond the written word onto the Internet, where she's just launched a Polished for Pennies Web series, hosted by ULIVE.

The La Salle communications grad said that the idea for the blog-turned-show was inspired by her thrifty ways while working at Tango Traffic.

"I was living this on-camera dream life, but in reality I was trying to look like a million bucks, and trying to portray this image on a college budget," Woodill told me. "I wanted to reach women like me, those hustlers who are trying to achieve those dreams, who don't have money, who are struggling but want to look great."

Woodill has filmed six episodes of "Polished for Pennies," which can be found in the style section on ulive.com. Each episode is about four minutes long and was shot in and around the Philly area. The first episode dropped on Jan. 2.

"We've done shoots at Saks and the Four Seasons, but we're running around in $5 shirts that we bought at a thrift store in Fox Chase, because that's the whole idea: You can wear things that cost pennies, but you'll sell [the look] with how confident you are," Woodill said.

Changes at Radio 104.5

Weekend DJ Jessie Sabella is getting a boost at Radio 104.5. The former intern will go full-time, taking over the 7 p.m.-to-midnight slot on the alternative-rock station. She'll keep her gig on the weekends in addition to the nightly shifts.

Mike Jones, who previously held the night-time slot, will move up to the 3 to 7 p.m. drive-time slot. That shifts Wendy Rollins into 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., while Johnny will hold down 6 to 10 a.m.

Taco party

Philly's taco joints will get the small-screen treatment tonight on the Cooking Channel's "Taco Trip," featuring celeb chef Aaron Sanchez. Tuk Tuk Real (429 South St.), Union Taco (712 W. Girard Ave.), Sancho Pistola's (19 W. Girard Ave.) and La Calaca Feliz (2321 Fairmount Ave.) all get air time. Sancho's will host a viewing party of the episode, while Tuk Tuk Real and Union Taco will have $2 taco specials today.

Catch the show at 9:30 tonight.

Up close with Kim K

Our own beauty columnist Ell Levi had a brush with Kim Kardashian this weekend. She'll give a preview of it in tomorrow's "Beautiful You" column, so be sure to pick up a copy of the paper!

Digging deep

Rennard East will be featured on PBS' "Genealogy Road Show" at 8 tonight looking into how his family settled in Philly, while delving into the nation's dark KKK past.
