Tan Mom to get in the celeb-boxing ring

TAN MOM has not yet burnt to a crisp, and now she wants to get in the ring.

Patricia Krentcil gained national notoriety and became a favorite of Howard Stern after taking her 5-year-old daughter to the tanning salon.

Because our society is such that it is, Krentcil is still on the publicity-hound circuit, this time hooking up with celebrity-boxing promoter Damon Feldman.

Say congrats to Brandon "Buster" Satterfield, who's been promoted to program director at Wired 96.5. The afternoon host has been with Wired since 2012. Most recently, he served as the station's assistant program director, music director and afternoon host.

Tariq "Black Thought" Trotter, of the Roots, will be at Audenried Charter High School today to announce a new mural honoring Dr. Shawn White, a tireless HIV/AIDS activist and musician (you might know him as Air Smooth from the '90s hip-hoppers Divine Beings). White tragically died last year.

Trotter was elected to the board of the Philadelphia Mural Arts Advocates earlier this year.

Temple University will have quite the star-studded graduation ceremony this year. Honorary-degree recipients include singer-actress Jill Scott (catch her next in the James Brown biopic "Get On Up"); entrepreneur and co-owner of this here newspaper Lewis Katz; and inventor James West. Of course, Bill Cosby will attend to give his regular speech.

The Temple University School of Media and Communication will get an extra treat when famed newsman Dan Rather speaks at its commencement ceremony.

* Speaking of Rather, he'll also make a stop at the Kimmel Center next year for Widener University's Philadelphia Speaker Series. Other names on the docket include actor Alan Alda and documentary filmmaker Ken Burns.

* Director M. Night Shyamalan stopped by one of his go-to restaurants, Tashan (777 S. Broad St.), on Saturday. I hear Shyamalan, who just wrapped up filming the psychological thriller "Sundowning" in the area, is a sucker for the samosa chaat.

* Brit actor Nick Frost ("Shaun of the Dead," "The World's End") dined at Buddakan (325 Chestnut St.) on Wednesday. Funnyman Frost was in town to talk about his new movie, "Cuban Fury," out Friday.

* Eagle Todd Herremans dined out at Sbraga (440 S. Broad St.) on Wednesday. Herremans' foursome closed down the house of the flagship restaurant from "Top Chef" victor Kevin Sbraga.

Local guy Ulysses "Butch" Slaughter will revisit "Dr. Phil" today for the mustached healer's 2,000th episode. In 2011, Slaughter went on "Dr. Phil" with his father, Ulysses Slaughter Sr., 33 years after the senior Slaughter was charged with killing Butch's mother.

"Dr. Phil and his staff gave me and my father a unique opportunity to change our lives," said Slaughter, who lives in suburban Philly. "Just two months before [Slaughter Sr.] passed away, he met my six children - his grandchildren - and opened the door for a new way to remember everything."
