Real Food Eatery — a fast-casual restaurant that opened last summer near 16th and Walnut Streets serving healthful bowls and full platters — is planning a second Center City location about four blocks away.
Mike Mangold and John Colasante have signed a lease at 1700 Market St., taking the former Verizon store next door to Cosi. They expect to open in early 2018.
It’s real food. For what they call a “real plate,” customers choose a base (greens or a grain), a protein (such as chicken thighs, shrimp, sirloin, salmon, or tofu – all seared to order), and two sides (maybe kale salad, roasted broccoli, or sweet potatoes). Total is $8.95 for tofu to $14.50 for salmon.
Salads and bowls are $7.75 to $9.90.
