After a stint as backup Sixers writer, Marc Narducci has become an all-around utility player, covering the Super Bowl, the NBA All-Star Game, assorted Phillies games and the end of the hockey lockout. As a lifelong South Jersey resident, Narducci follows Philly's pro teams closely. He also covered South Jersey high school sports for years.

When the six NJSIAA baseball championships take place Saturday, the Cape-Atlantic League will be carrying the South Jersey banner. Buena will play Bernards in the 11 a.m. Group 2 title game at Toms River East. Mainland will be in the Group 3 final against Mount Olive, 2 p.m. at Toms River South. And St. Joseph, a team specializing in wacky comebacks, will face Hudson Catholic in Non-Public B, 2:30 at Toms River North.
There was a stunned feeling, and for good reason. Gloucester Catholic, despite mounting a comeback, lost to St. John Vianney, 3-2, Tuesday in the South Jersey Non-Public A baseball championship game at Rowan University.
