Lou Rabito has been at the Inquirer since September 1989, spending his first 11 years as high school sports editor before working in Inquirer suburban news bureaus for 9 1/2 years. He returned to sports to edit and write in March 2010.
Sophomore and junior years are prime time for many NCAA Division I prospects, and that's when Jordan Prutzer did practically nothing on the softball field.
The pole vault is unlike most other track and field events, and the reason goes beyond the obvious - the poles that are more than twice as tall as the athletes.
