When safety Corey Graham couldn't practice Wednesday, with safety Rodney McLeod and corner/safety Jaylen Watkins already injured, on a team that lost starting corner Ronald Darby in Week 1, it seemed inevitable that a roster move for a defensive back was pending.

Sure enough, the Eagles announced Wednesday afternoon that they had gone to their favorite source of defensive help — the Buffalo Bills — claiming safety Trae Elston off waivers.

Elston, 24, who played at Ole Miss, was active for the Bills' first two games, playing on special teams.

Graham, Watkins and McLeod all suffered hamstring injuries in Sunday's 27-20 loss to Kansas City. Watkins and McLeod seem unlikely to play this week; Graham, who has a 159-game ironman streak, said he is taking it day-by-day. Darby suffered an ankle dislocation in the opener that will sideline him another month or so.
