Eagles get good news on Ronald Darby

The cornerback seems to have escaped serious injury.

Eagles cornerback Ronald Darby should be sidelined for only four to six  weeks because of the gruesome ankle dislocation  he suffered in the second quarter of the team's victory Sunday over the Washington Redskins, a source said.

A source with knowledge of the situation said Monday that the Eagles' medical staff saw only minor ligament damage on the MRI that Darby got Monday, but that those results will be sent to Charlotte foot and ankle specialist Robert Anderson, who has become the sport's go-to doctor on such injuries. It's conceivable, but unlikely, that Anderson will have a different opinion.

Darby left the field on a cart and seemed to be seriously injured, but the mood there began to brighten when an X-ray taken at FedEx Field revealed no break. The Eagles' medical staff got to Darby quickly and performed a reduction of the dislocation, possibly minimizing the damage.
