Eagles assistants Jim Schwartz, John DeFilippo to interview for NFL head coaching jobs this weekend
The Cardinals, Bears and Giants are set to interview Eagles assistants Jim Schwartz and John DeFilippo in Philadelphia this weekend.

Taking advantage of the one-weekend window to interview head coaching candidates on playoff teams with first-round byes, three franchises will meet with Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz and quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo in Philadelphia over the next two days, according to NFL sources.
The Cardinals are up first and are scheduled to meet with both Eagles assistants on Friday — Schwartz in the afternoon, following by DeFilippo in the evening. The Bears are set to sit down with DeFillipo on Saturday morning.
The New York Giants have reportedly lined up an interview with Schwartz, although the exact date of their meeting wasn't known. The Giants' search committee was reportedly in New England to interview Patriots assistants Josh McDaniels and Matt Patricia on Friday. The Eagles' NFC East rivals fired head coach Ben McAdoo early last month. Interim coach and former Eagles assistant Steve Spagnuolo also interviewed for the vacancy.
Bruce Arians, Arizona's head coach for the previous five seasons, announced his retirement earlier this week. The Bears fired John Fox on Monday.
If any of the aforementioned teams hopes to have a second interview with either Schwartz or DeFilippo, or hire them, they will have to wait until the Eagles are done in the playoffs. The Eagles will host either the Saints, Falcons or Panthers in the divisional round on Jan. 13 at 4:35 p.m.
Schwartz, who joined the Eagles' staff shortly after Doug Pederson was named head coach two years ago, has prior head coaching experience. He helmed the Lions from 2009-13, compiling a 29-51 mark. Making the jump from position coach to head coach doesn't happen often, but DeFilippo has prior coordinating experience and is considered a bright, young mind around the league. He's been credited with helping Carson Wentz develop into one of the best quarterback's in the NFL.
