Camille Cosby stands by her man

Stand by your man

It must be difficult to be Bill Cosby's business manager these days, especially since his business manager is his wife, Camille.

Fifty-one years is a long time to be married to someone only to find out that they may be responsible for behavior so heinous you can't believe it.

So, Camille Cosby is choosing not to believe it.

According to an article in the New York Post, she knows that Bill is a serial cheater, just not a sex assaulter.

She believes that the woman who've accused him consented to drugs and sex, two Cosby confidants say.

"Camille still doesn't believe that Bill provided drugs and had sex with women without their consent," said a source employed by the Cosby family. "She's well aware of his cheating, but she doesn't believe that her husband is a rapist."

Sure, because more than 30 women over nearly five decades all made up the same story. Because at least one of the women, according to Mrs. Cosby's reading of her husband's testimony, was willing to trade sex for Benadryl.

Or did she want the sex, and the Benadryl was in lieu of roses or chocolates?

Or did Cos say, "I can't have sex with you if your nose is running."

It, as we say, strains credulity.

Mrs. Cosby is "a proud, dignified but stubborn woman," said another unnamed source close to the Cosbys. "You can say that she's standing by her husband, but really, the more people stand against him, the more she perceives it as an affront to her and all that she's done to make him a star."

Hmm. An affront to her?

"I created him, I knew what I was getting and we'll fix this," she reportedly told a gathering of advisers at the couple's Shelburne Falls, Mass., home last week.

"They are making him out to be such a bad guy, a monster," Camille said, according to the source.

So, basically, he's Quaaluded.

And she's deluded.

Universal Pictures (part of the Comcast empire) is having a big year.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" did over $166 million in domestic box office after opening in February. "Furious 7" topped $351 million following its opening in April. Their May release, "Pitch Perfect 2," surprised everyone with over $183 million, and their June release, "Jurassic World," broke record after record en route to over $590 million.

Now comes the company's July pic, "Minions," which finished in the top spot this weekend with over $115 million.

It was the second-biggest opening ever for an animated film and an easy win for the "Despicable Me" sidekicks.

"Jurassic World" grossed $18.1 million in its fifth weekend after release, to finish second.

Disney's "Inside Out" ranked third with $17.1 million in its fourth weekend.

"Minions" was a hit overseas as well, taking the No. 1 spot in Mexico, Russia, France and Venezuela, among others. Internationally, the movie has grossed $280.5 million so far.

Other movies debuting in the Top 10 this past weekend were "The Gallows" and "Self/less."

TATTBITS

* A Manhattan jury on Friday ordered 50 Cent to pay $5 million to Lastonia Leviston, a woman who said he acquired a video she made with her boyfriend, added himself as a crude commentator and posted it online without her permission.

The jurors will continue deliberations this week on possible punitive damages in Leviston's invasion-of-privacy lawsuit.

Attorney William A. Brewer III said 50 Cent and his legal team are "disappointed in the verdict but very appreciative of the service of the jury and the court."

* Last week we ran a story in which Tom Selleck was accused by his California town of stealing thousands of gallons of water from a hydrant not far from his ranch.

Turns out the water was paid for by a construction company, which may have sold the water to Selleck, or may have been working for Selleck. It's murky.

* Movie music legend Ennio Morricone, 86, the man responsible for the soundtracks of the great spaghetti westerns of the 1960s, is going to score, Quentin Tarantino's western, "The Hateful Eight."

Tarantino made the announcement at San Diego Comic-Con.
