Coachella announces spring lineup

Also in Tattle: Jimmy Carter fetes Bob Dylan, Sting gets stung, Sparks fly in divorce and more.

AC/DC , Jack White and Drake will headline the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April.

The fest also will include Interpol, David Guetta and Florence + the Machine. It takes place in a desert in Indio, Calif., and there will be numerous photos of stars dressed like hippies.

AC/DC, which released a new album last month, will headline on April 10 and 17. White will perform on April 11 and 18. Drake takes the stage on April 12 and 19.

Tickets go on sale today. Other acts include Tame Impala, Steely Dan, the Weeknd, alt-J, Hozier, Kaskade and St. Vincent.

* Former President Jimmy Carter will present Bob Dylan with the 2015 MusiCares Person of the Year honor next month in L.A.

The Recording Academy said yesterday that Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nelson and Jack White (him again?) will perform at the pre-Grammy event on Feb. 6 at the L.A. Convention Center along with Jackson Browne; Alanis Morissette; Neil Young; Beck; Norah Jones; the Black Keys; Crosby, Stills & Nash; John Mellencamp; and others.

* In other music news, even Sting could not keep "The Last Ship" afloat.

Producer Jeffrey Seller said yesterday that Sting's Broadway musical will close when his stint in the show ends Jan. 24 at the Neil Simon Theatre.

Sting, who wrote the songs, joined "Ship" in early December. While that improved sales, they didn't skyrocket, and the future looked about as bleak as his hometown's shipbuilding business.

"We made the musical we wanted to make and we're fiercely proud of it," Seller said. "It's been spectacular that Sting could be in it for its final weeks because now we go out with some degree of triumph. Not what I wanted. But some degree of triumph."

"The Last Ship" is a semiautobiographical story about a prodigal son who returns to his northern England shipbuilding town for the girl he abandoned. He finds the workers are now unemployed and hope to build one last boat to show off their skill and pride.

Tattle will probably have to wait a few years now to launch our musical, "The Last Newspaper."

TATTBITS

Nicholas Sparks, who's made millions writing sappy romances ("The Notebook"), is getting a divorce, says People magazine.

Spokeswoman Jill Fritzo, of PMK-BNC, confirmed yesterday that the best-selling writer has separated from his wife of 25 years, Cathy. Sparks, 49, said in a statement that the decision was not "made lightly" and that he and his wife "remain close friends."

Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting says she's sorry if people were offended by her recent comments on feminism.

The 29-year-old "Big Bang Theory" star was quoted in Redbook magazine as saying that she enjoys cooking for and "serving" her husband, Ryan Sweeting, and was "never that feminist girl demanding equality."

But in an interview for her upcoming film, "The Wedding Ringer," Kaley said her answers were taken out of context.

She said she simply meant that she feels lucky "to have a career, really build myself as an independent woman . . . be able to serve my husband and have a family."

She also said she never wants to offend anyone, "but it happens and I'm really sorry."

Kaley, there's nothing wrong with offending someone if you're sticking up for something you believe in.

Besides, you don't have to demand equality when you get paid $1 million an episode.
