Tattle: L.A. D.A. says Chris Brown shirked community service

CHRIS BROWN is not only back with Rihanna, he may be back picking up trash by the side of the road.

Los Angeles prosecutors told a judge that there is no credible evidence that Brown completed the community service he was required to do related to the beating of Rihanna, and he should be forced to repeat six months of manual labor in L.A.

The motion by the L.A. District Attorney's office says the records submitted to prove Brown finished the community labor sentenced by Virginia authorities contain numerous discrepancies.

Brown was ordered to serve five years on probation and perform six months of community labor after he pleaded guilty in the February 2009 assault on Ri-Ri.

Investigators from Los Angeles traveled to Brown's native Virginia to try to verify that Brown had worked all the hours as reported by the Richmond Police Department, but they were unable to confirm it, the motion said.

"This inquiry provided no credible, competent or verifiable evidence that defendant Brown performed his community labor as presented to this court," Deputy District Attorney Mary Murray wrote.

Richmond Police spokesman Gene Lepley had no immediate comment on the allegations.

Brown's attorney was outraged by the accusation.

Nederlander will be producing the show in partnership with Bernie Yuman, who produced and managed Siegfried & Roy's Las Vegas show. For now the show is just concept - no writer, director or creative team are attached.

* In Germany, an unidentified anesthesiologist has been convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of 23-year-old German porn star Carolin Wosnitza (a/k/a/ "Sexy Cora"), who had a heart attack due to lack of oxygen during a breast-enlargement operation in 2011.

The Deutsche Presse-Agentur news agency reported Tuesday that the Hamburg l doctor, identified only by the initials M.F. to protect her identity, told the court she took responsibility for Wosnitza's death and was given a 15-month suspended sentence.

Wosnitza, who also appeared on the German "Big Brother" reality TV show, died several days after the botched procedure.

* Minami Minegishi, a member of the hugely popular Japanese girl band AKB48, has shaved her head as an act of contrition and issued a tearful videotaped apology for violating the megagroup's no-dating rule, sparking a national debate over whether the band's management exerts too much control over its performers.

Uh, yeah.

Pictures of Minegishi, 20, with closely-cropped hair, have been splashed across Japanese newspapers and triggered heated discussion. She made the video, posted on AKB48's website, after she was caught by the Weekly Bunshun gossip magazine leaving a 19-year-old boy-band member's apartment.

For those of you not up on the pop phenomena of the people who brought you Pokemon, AKB48 is made up of more than 90 girls and young women divided into several teams. The overall group forbids its members from dating to project a clean image and signal their devotion to the group and fans. Minegishi belonged to one of the top teams, but after her walk of shame, she was demoted to bottom-ranked "research student" status.

AKB48 performs almost every day at its own theater in Tokyo and has affiliates across Japan and in Indonesia, China and Taiwan. The singing and dancing aren't always perfect, but fans view them as friends or sisters, not superstars.

* Pragaash, the first all-girl rock band in Indian-controlled Kashmir has decided to disband after only one concert because of threats its teenage members received on social media and a demand from a top Muslim cleric that they stop performing.

The fate of Pragaash ("First Light" in Kashmiri), highlights the simmering tension between modernity and tradition in Muslim-majority Kashmir, where there's been an armed uprising against Indian rule and a government crackdown since 1989.

Adnan Mattoo, the group's manager and music teacher , said the three high school students who formed Pragaash - drummer Farah Deeba, bass guitarist Aneeqa Khalid and singer and guitarist Noma Nazir - won't talk about their decision to disband and what led to it.

"They feel terribly scared and want an immediate end to this controversy once for all," Mattoo said Tuesday.

However, a girl identified as one of the band members told India's CNN-IBN in a phone interview that the group decided to disband because of the cleric's edict, and not because of the online abuse.

"Everything was going fine till the fatwa was issued," she said.

Isn't that always the way? It's all fun and games until the fatwa is issued.
