Cameron will only develop his ‘Avatar’

James Cameron has got the blues. The "Avatar" blues.

The "Titanic" director, told the New York Times, "I've divided my time over the last 16 years over deep ocean exploration and filmmaking. I've made two movies in 16 years, and I've done eight expeditions. Last year I basically completely disbanded my production company's development arm. So I'm not interested in developing anything. I'm in the 'Avatar' business. Period. That's it. I'm making 'Avatar 2,' 'Avatar 3,' maybe 'Avatar 4,' and I'm not going to produce other people's movies for them. I'm not interested in taking scripts. . . . I think within the 'Avatar' landscape I can say everything I need to say that I think needs to be said, in terms of the state of the world and what I think we need to be doing about it. And doing it in an entertaining way."

If Cameron has a thought that can't be filtered through Pandora's box, he will continue to make documentaries.

PTC blasts 'AGT'

The publicity-seeking Parents Television Council has fired a warning shot at 91 of "America's Got Talent's" past advertisers, urging them to avoid the show now that Howard Stern is a judge.

In the letter, PTC asks sponsors if Stern's "decades-long penchant for profanity, his affinity for degrading and sexualizing women, and his proclivity for vulgar and explicit dialog" accurately reflect their corporate values.

Yo, PTC, they're not advertising on Stern's radio show. They're advertising on a show in which kids sing opera and seniors tap dance.

Imagine if the PTC held these standards for all performers. In 1979, John Gielgud, Peter O'Toole, Helen Mirren and Malcolm McDowell were in the X-rated "Caligula." Tom Hanks made the raunchy "Bachelor Party" in 1984 and family-friendly "Big" four years later. Have you ever seen Chris Rock's expletive-laden show, PTC? You know he's also one of the voices in "Madagascar"?

Trust Tattle. Stern, a father of three, will behave on "AGT." He's not going to ask female contestants about their sex lives and make them ride the Sybian.

Not run-of-the-Mill

It was quite the happy birthday yesterday for Philly rapper Meek Mill, who turned 25. As our colleague Molly Eichel reported on philly.com, his mixtape "Dreamchasers 2" caused mixtape site DatPiff to go over capacity. Shortly after it was posted yesterday afternoon, it had over 250,000 downloads.

Mill's debut album, "Dreams and Nightmares," will drop Aug. 28 via Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group.

'DWTS' Clark tribute

Twenty American Bandstand regulars will be in the house Tuesday night for ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" tribute to Dick Clark and the show that got everyone dancing.

Hometown girl Bunny Gibson and Steve Colandero will be there representing the Philly regulars, she told Jonathan Takiff yesterday for his philly.com blog.

"I went to the 'DWTS' rehearsal and saw the huge dance number featuring Karina Smirnoff and Tony Dovolani and choreographed by Jamal Sims and Wendy Johnson," said Gibson, who's sitting this one out. "The dancing was amazing and when I spoke to the dancers, Tony Dovolani gave me a big hug. They all will be shining on Tuesday as they dance in honor of Dick Clark and our American Bandstand history that started in Philadelphia."
