A delicate question about holding 2 jobs

What if one boss stops by for a burger?

DEAR HARRY: Back in 2009, I was laid off from my job, which I had held for 22 years. I had trouble finding another one until a friend offered me a job in one of his fast-food restaurants. He saw that I was starting to get desperate.

I rose quickly to become weekend manager as well as assistant manager on Monday through Wednesday. This went on until June 2011. My old job opened up, and I left that interim job.

Yesterday, my fast-food friend called and offered me a job as weekend manager, again, with a hefty pay increase. He has not had a good manager since I left. I can easily handle that job and my regular job. The extra money will give me enough money to pay off my daughter's college loans completely in a little more than a year. My current boss does not object to a second job that does not interfere with an employee's time with him. The problem is that this restaurant is near where my boss lives, and I don't want to embarrass him if he should come in. Help!

WHAT HARRY SAYS: I understand the situation, but I don't see any problem. Should he come in, greet him like any other customer whom you know: "Good morning, Mr. Jones." You don't have to say any more. Then continue with your regular activities. Good luck!
