Senior-living project coming to ex-Collegeville Inn site

Providence Place Senior Living will spend $19 million to build a 113-unit senior-living facility in Lower Providence Township, at the site of the former Collegeville Inn, the Hummelstown, Pa., company said Tuesday.

A two-story addition to the inn will have an assisted-living license and include memory-care units, though some residents will live there independently while using the dining facilities, Providence Place spokeswoman Ashley Uhler said.

The restored inn will serve as the main dining room and include a spa, community room, resident pub, activities room, and deck overlooking the Perkiomen Creek, according to a news release from the township, which said it had approved Providence Place's land-development plan.

Providence Place already operates five communities in Pennsylvania.
