Kathleen A. Kinslow, chief executive of Aria Health in Philadelphia was elected chair of the Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania's board of directors, the Harrisburg advocacy group said Wednesday.

When Aria completes its merger with Jefferson Health, Kinslow is slated to become a Jefferson executive vice president in charge of community hospitals, overseeing Aria's three hospitals and Abington's two hospitals, Jefferson said in January.

Kinslow has headed Aria since 2010. Before that she was executive director of Pennsylvania Hospital, where she started in 1992 as director of the School of Anasthesia.

As chair of the hospital association, Kinslow succeeds Scott A. Becker, who announced his September 2016 retirement as Chief Executive Officer of Conemaugh Health System, which is in Johnstown.
