Rain forces changes in final day of BMW Championship

The 69 players will be bunched into threesomes that will tee off from both the first and 10th holes between 7:30 a.m. and 9:20 a.m., a period when meteorologists have forecast a brief window in yet another day of rain.

The only thing gloomier than the look on Vince Pellegrino's face Sunday afternoon was the weather.

After rain forced the cancellation of Sunday's final round of the 2018 BMW Championship at Aronimink Golf Club, Pellegrino was left to explain the latest logistical changes necessitated by the weather.

"It's a shame, because we had an incredible leaderboard and incredible support from the Philadelphia community," said Pellegrino, senior vice president of the Western Golf Association, which operates the tournament. "You saw the support we had [Saturday]."

As happened on Saturday, the 69 players will be bunched into threesomes that will tee off from both the first and 10th holes between 7:30 a.m. and 9:20 a.m., a period when meteorologists have forecast a brief window in yet another day of rain.

All tickets for Sunday will be honored Monday, and additional tickets will be on sale at the gates, which will open at 7:30 a.m., according to tournament officials.

But unlike last week, spectators coming to the tournament will have only one option for parking – at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks. That lot will open at 7, and shuttles will run throughout the day.

Uber pickups must now originate at the Oaks lot, as well. They had been taking place at Episcopal Academy, but school is open Monday.

As for TV coverage, the BMW's concluding round can be seen live on the Golf Channel from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
