IT'S EVERY parent's greatest fear. A middle-of-the-night call that a child has been hurt - or worse. And whether it's your own child or someone else's, and no matter how many times we've seen it happen before, no parent should ever have to bury a child. It just isn't natural.
THIS Sunday marked World Homeless Awareness Day, the purpose of which was "to draw attention to homeless people's needs locally and to provide opportunities for the community to get involved in responding to homelessness" on the world stage.
DEAR Dr. Laura: I'm always amazed when other folks blame black people for taking offense at blatant racism. What's even worse is when someone who has a nationwide radio forum that reaches millions is so irresponsible. Having a national talk show is a privilege - and one you've always taken for granted.
IT'S HARD to believe Mitch Snyder has been dead for 20 years. But what's even more peculiar is that the work he dedicated his life to - fighting for the rights of the homeless - has become an even bigger problem three decades after he called for the problem to be solved.
