MEGA BAD MOVIE NIGHT: The Academy of Natural Sciences throw an amazing Mystery Science Theater 3000-esque movie night every few months, screening terrible movies accompanied by running commentary by the museum's scientists. They point out the scientific inaccuracies in the movies, with hilarious results.

For Valentine's Day, the Academy will be screening One Million Years B.C. The title of the film alone is worthy of mockery, so I'm sure the scientists will go to town on this one.

And the fun doesn't start with the movie screening. Guests are welcome to walk around the museum before the screening, nibble on snacks, and buy drinks at the Academy's cash bar. You'll also be able to scope out the museum's live animals and explore the Butterflies! exhibit.

Insider tip? Get Jill Sybesma to let you pose with an owl. Those things are adorable.

SID & NANCY AT THE INTERNATIONAL HOUSE: You could go see Les Miserables or some other heart wrenching romantic film in a crowded movie theater with overpriced popcorn and stick flowers… or you could visit the International House for something a little more intimate.

TRUE ROMANCE AT THE COLONIAL THEATRE: Released in between Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, Quentin Tarantino's True Romance is an underrated gem directed by the late, great Tony Scott. A romantic crime film with an amazing cast, the movie is full of pop culture references and a charming, unconventional love story.

Now, put aside the fact that the movie is awesome. It's the setting you'll be watching it in that adds to the magic of the night. The Colonial Theatre is famous for being a filming location for The Blob. So enjoy an evening of watching a great piece of film in a legendary theater.
