Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards were definitely worth watching. There were fashion hits. (There were a lot of misses.) There was too much crazy and then, there was the mundane.
Hands down that goes to Drizzy Drake. The man performed in the Bellagio Fountain. The Bellagio Fountain! Did I say the Bellagio Fountain. I like seriously couldn’t stop looking. And that cute little athlesiure outfit. I think I’m in love. Congrats to Drake for taking home 13 Billboard Music Awards, the most ever won by an artist in one night.
Smokey Bear hats are finally in, maybe?
It took a couple of years for Pharrell Williams’ Smokey the Bear look to catch on with the celebrity masses. But Sean “P- Diddy” Combs and The Notorious B.I.G.’s son, Chistopher Jordan Wallace Jr., sorta kinda made the head gear look funky on Dunday night. Then again, maybe my fashion judgement is clouded because I can’t contain my nostalgic excitement about Combs’ new documentary, Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop debuting on Apple Music June 25. As much as I got it in back in those days, I should be in that movie.

Only because it’s Cher. And even then…
I think I better leave it at that. Although I have to give Cher all the hard body props I can muster for having that body at 71! During the show, home girl said that she could hold a plank for 5 minutes. (I held one for 45 seconds this morning.)
Did Halsey seriously wear a bra as a top?
But I must admit, this sheer, wide-legged pant look – complete with a cape made out of roses, Halsey wore to perform the hit, “Now or Never” was among the night’s show-stopper looks.
And finally, the if only I could pull that look off goes to…
Celine Dione. That billowing, sleeved gown by Stephane Rolland Haute Couture was amazing just like her amazing performance of the blockbuster hit from “Titanic,” “My Heart Will Go On.” Twenty years later, that song still gives me chills.
