Minor league report: Dylan Cozens, Scott Kingery help the IronPigs win again

Here is a roundup of the Phillies' minor league teams Tuesday.

Tuesday’s Phillies Minor Leagues roundup:

INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE (AAA)

Lehigh Valley 5, Gwinnett 3 (10 Inn.): Slugging RF Dylan Cozens helped manufacture what turned out to be the winning run as the Iron Pigs (59-37) won in their last at-bat for the second consecutive game.

Cozens opened the top of the 10th with a single, stole second, advanced to third on a throwing error on a failed fielder's choice and scored on Pedro Florimon's two-run single.

2B Scott Kingery forced extra innings with a ninth-inning single. CF Herlis Rodriguez (.278) went 4-for-5 with two doubles but struck out during the tenth-inning rally.

RHP Ben Lively gave up five hits and two earned runs in five innings while Edubray Ramos pitched a scoreless bottom of the ninth for the win.

Closer Pedro Beato set the franchise's single-season record for saves when he finally nailed down No. 27 in the 10th. Beato had two walks and two wild pitches in the inning before striking out prized Braves prospect Ozzie Albies to end it.
The IronPigs continue to trail Scranton/Wilkes-Barre by two games in the IL North.

EASTERN LEAGUE (AA)

New Hampshire 5, Reading 2: RHP Tyler Viza gave up three runs, all earned, in seven innings to fall 6-7, 6.03 ERA. 3B Mitch Walding his a ninth-inning solo homer, his 22nd of the season. He struck out in his other three at-bats.
Reading at New Hampshire, 7:05 p.m.

FLORIDA STATE LEAGUE (A)

Clearwater 6, Dunedin 0: LHP Ranger Suarez, a 21-year-old lefty, struck out 10 and walked one in six scoreless innings to win his first game at the High-A level. C Deivi Grullon, RF Jan Hernandez and 2B Grenny Cumana all homered for the Threshers (13-10 second half).

SOUTH ATLANTIC LEAGUE (A)

Lakewood (11-13) was idle. The BlueClaws are 2.5 games back of Hagerstown and Hickory in the SAL North.
The BlueClaws open a seven-day road trip at Rome, Ga. on Wednesday. Touted prospect Sixto Sanchez is slated to start the second game of Thursday night's doubleheader.

Lakewood's next home game is against Hickory on Thursday, July 27. The 'Claws are 222 away from drawing their seven millionth fan, which will make them the fastest franchise to 7M in SAL and New Jersey minor-league history. The BlueClaws started in 2001 and have a host of prizes planned for the fan determined to be No. 7,000,000.

NEW YORK-PENN LEAGUE (A)

State College 9-3, Williamsport 3-1: The doubleheader sweep dropped the CrossCutters to 14-12. C Colby Fitch had two singles in three at-bats and is now 8-for-17 on the season (.471).

GULF COAST LEAGUE (Rookie)

Yankees East at Phillies, ppd. (rain): The Phils are 11-7 and two games back of the Blue Jays in the Northwest Division.
