AS SCHEDULES go, the Eagles have a pretty friendly one.

They play only one game all season outside the Eastern time zone (at Dallas, Week 9) and have only one airplane trip after Thanksgiving (at New England, Week 13).

The Birds do open with three road games in their first four and play three consecutive night games starting in Week 6, but they'll be home for Christmas Eve.

Here's a quick look at the best and worst of their 2015 opponents:

Most bizarre 2015 stories

1. From deflation to elation in New England

2. Teammate breaks Jets QB's jaw

3. Wait, the wife of Redskins' GM tweeted what?

4. Fireworks accident ends Bucs d-back's career

5. Fireworks accident nearly does the same for Giants' JPP

Outlook: Dishonorable mentions go to the Redskins/RG3 saga, the Cam Newton training-camp fight with one of his teammates, and LeSean McCoy's attempt at an extremely shady party.

Best quarterbacks

1. Tom Brady, Patriots

2. Drew Brees, Saints

3. Tony Romo, Cowboys

4. Ryan Tannehill, Dolphins

5. Eli Manning, Giants

Outlook: Including postseason games, Brady is 4-0 against the Eagles; Brees is 5-2, Romo is 11-7 and Manning is 9-15 . . . Tannehill and Manning nudged out Matt Ryan and Carson Palmer.

Best running backs

1. LeSean McCoy, Bills

2. Doug Martin, Buccaneers

3. Jonathan Stewart, Panthers

4. Lamar Miller, Dolphins

5. LeGarrette Blount, Patriots

Outlook: This list is light after McCoy, who himself is battling a hamstring injury . . . Stewart flourished at the end of 2014, and he's no longer splitting the job with DeAngelo Williams . . . The first three opponents (Falcons, Cowboys, Jets) are trying to find their proven back.

Best wide receivers

1. Odell Beckham Jr., Giants

2. Dez Bryant, Cowboys

3. Julio Jones, Falcons

4. Calvin Johnson, Lions

5. Mike Evans, Buccaneers

Outlook: Seeing Beckham and Bryant twice a year will quickly make defensive coordinator Bill Davis an old man . . . By limiting the list to five, Brandin Cooks (Saints), Jarvis Landry (Dolphins) and Brandon Marshall (Jets) did not make the cut . . . Also doesn't include the Cardinals' Larry Fitzgerald, who has tortured the Eagles with 802 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns in seven games.

Most electric

1. Devin Hester, KR, Falcons

2. Odell Beckham, WR, Giants

3. LeSean McCoy, RB, Bills

4. Rob Gronkowski, TE, Patriots

5. Julio Jones, WR, Falcons

Outlook: Hester, 33 in November, led the NFL in kickoff return yards last year. He also had a punt return for a score, his record 19th return touchdown . . . Beckham was the best in a super class of rookie wide receivers last year . . . Bills Nation is sweating out McCoy's hamstring injury.

Top rookies

1. Jameis Winston, QB, Buccaneers

2. Vic Beasley, LB/DE, Falcons

3. Ameer Abdullah, RB, Lions

4. DeVante Parker, WR, Dolphins

5. Leonard Williams, DE, Jets

Outlook: The last quarterback taken No. 1 overall to start against the Eagles in his rookie season was Eli Manning in 2004. The Birds rolled the Giants, 27-6, as Manning managed to complete only six of 21 passes against coordinator Jim Johnson's defense with no TDs and two interceptions (Brian Dawkins, Quintin Mikell) . . . Beasley was an excellent pass-rusher at Clemson.

Best O-linemen

1. Tyron Smith, T, Cowboys

2. Travis Frederick, C, Cowboys

3. Zack Martin, G, Cowboys

4. Trent Williams, T, Redskins

5. Jahri Evans, G, Saints

Outlook: The three Cowboys on this list are all 24 years old, so they'll be around for a while . . . Williams signed a five-year, $66 million deal in August that made him the highest-paid tackle in the league . . . Evans (Frankford High) is still getting it done. He turned 32 in August and is coming off his sixth consecutive Pro Bowl nod.

Best defensive players

1. Mario Williams, DE, Bills

2. Ndamukong Suh, DT, Dolphins

3. Marcell Dareus, DT, Bills

4. Luke Kuechly, LB, Panthers

5. Darrelle Revis, CB, Jets

Outlook: Williams had a career-best 14.5 sacks last season and has 38 in his three seasons with the Bills . . . Suh spent his first five seasons in Detroit and was first-team All-Pro four times. Eagles fans will note he has a nasty reputation as a cruel dude. He is ruthless and crude . . . Arguably, the best Eagles opponents not on this list are Buccaneers DT Gerald McCoy and Lions LB DeAndre Levy.

Bad boys

1. Greg Hardy, DE, Cowboys

2. Ndamukong Suh, DT, Dolphins

3. Sheldon Richardson, DE, Jets

4. Randy Gregory, DE, Cowboys

5. LeGarrette Blount, RB, Patriots

Outlook: Hardy is suspended the first four games for domestic violence after sitting out the final 15 games last season . . . Sam Bradford would do well to know where Suh is at all times, during the play, after the whistle and even during the commercials . . . Gregory cost himself a few million dollars by testing positive for marijuana at the NFL Scouting Combine. Instead of being selected in the first round, he slipped to the second . . . Blount essentially quit on the Steelers last year, but was picked up by the Patriots and was a key part of their Super Bowl run . . . Two weeks after he was suspended four games for pot, Richardson was clocked drag racing at 143 mph with a 12-year-old kid in the car.

Familiar faces

1. LeSean McCoy, RB, Bills

2. Bradley Fletcher, CB, Patriots

3. Todd Bowles, head coach, Jets

4. DeSean Jackson, WR, Redskins

5. Matt Barkley, QB, Cardinals

Outlook: McCoy's most offensive move since last season was attempting to throw a ladies' only party that included a confidentiality agreement. Talk about fantasy football . . . Bowles, a Temple product and 2012 Eagles interim defensive coordinator, plays Andrew Luck in Week 2 and the Eagles in Week 3 . . . Barkley's return to Philadelphia could be Dec. 20, if he's still with Arizona – or sometime next spring if he's playing in the arena league.
