Chris Johnson ended his holdout by agreeing to terms with the Tennessee Titans on a four-year contract extension.

The Titans confirmed Thursday that they had agreed to terms on the revised deal. The three-time Pro Bowl running back tweeted Wednesday night that he had dinner in Orlando with his agent, Joel Segal, "talking business" on the 34th day of his holdout.

Johnson, 25, has led the NFL in yards rushing the last three seasons and refused to report to the camp without a new deal. The 24th pick overall in the 2008 draft out of East Carolina, he became only the sixth man in NFL history to run for 2,000 yards in 2009 when he ran for 2,006 yards.

The Titans revised his contract a year ago, moving up some money, but he was set to earn only $1,065,000 this season.

Now he will be under contract for the next six years through 2016, and the revised deal is worth $53.5 million, with $30 million guaranteed, according to a person familiar with the contract.

Minnesota's Adrian Peterson, a superstar in the final year of his original contract, surely will take note.

Taylor retiring as a Jaguar

Running back Fred Taylor is retiring from the NFL after 13 seasons and nearly 12,000 yards.

Taylor will sign a one-day contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday so he can formally retire with the team that drafted him ninth overall in 1998.

The former Florida star spent 11 seasons in Jacksonville and remains the franchise's leading rusher with 11,271 yards. He ranks third with 286 catches and fourth with 2,361 receiving yards.

Taylor ranks 15th on the NFL's all-time rushing list with 11,695 yards. He is 379 yards behind Thurman Thomas and 343 ahead of John Riggins - both in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

A bubble for Redskins

The Washington Redskins said they are building an indoor practice facility at Redskins Park in Ashburn, Va., to be completed in the fall.

Washington and Cincinnati are the northernmost of the 10 NFL teams without an onsite indoor place to practice. Last year, players piled into cars or buses several times and headed to a gymnasium or airport hangar because of inclement weather.

Game action for Pryor?

The Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks will close out the preseason on Friday night, which will be Terrelle Pryor's last chance to get on the field before October.

The former star quarterback from Western Pennsylvania will be banned from practicing or playing for the Raiders after Friday night as part of a five-game suspension imposed before he entered the NFL supplemental draft.

Pryor gave up his final season with Ohio State after an investigation into the team's memorabilia-for-cash scandal that cost coach Jim Tressel his job.

NFL plans 9/11 tribute

The NFL will salute "the American spirit" during its games on the first full day of the season, Sept. 11.

Pregame tributes will be synchronized on CBS and Fox telecasts and shown on video boards in each stadium hosting games. Coaches, players, and local first responders will hold field-length American flags for the playing of the national anthem.
