BRYN MAWR NATIVE Carl Mazzocone is a producer of "Texas Chainsaw 3D," the highest-grossing film at the box office over the weekend.

Mazzocone was the producer involved in securing rights to the name of the film, an update on the 1974 horror classic "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."

Mazzocone was also the producer of "Boxing Helena" who sued Kim Basinger for breach of contract after she decided against starring in the picture.

Bradley's b-day award

Rydal native Bradley Cooper, whose hometown haunts were featured on CBS' "Sunday Morning," was serenaded by director David O. Russell and "Entertainment Tonight" host Mary Hart on his birthday Saturday. Cooper celebrated his 38th birthday at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, where he won the Desert Palm achievement award for "Silver Linings Playbook," filmed in Delaware County and directed by Russell.

Hugh'll miss Union buds

Philadelphia Union chairman Jay Sugarman and GM Nick Sakiewicz will not be able to catch up with their pal Hugh Jackman when the entertainer hosts and performs in the 156th Academy of Music Anniversary Concert and Ball on Jan. 26 at the academy.

Sakiewicz will be in Florida, where the Union train in the off-season, and Sugarman, who also runs iStar Financial, is expected to be traveling. Jackman visited with the guys at PPL Park during a Union match last year.

Bethenny does QVC

Talk host Bethenny Frankel will be in the area Saturday to pitch her Skinnygirl Daily nutritional products live on QVC.

Frankel, who is divorcing husband Jason Hoppy, also has a reality show, "Bethenny Ever After," and a line of cocktails under her Skinnygirl brand. Before TV, she was a natural-foods chef.

* Also coming up on QVC is Melania Trump, wife of Wharton graduate Donald Trump. She'll be selling new pieces from her watches and jewelry line at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Jan. 15.

'Girls' visit for charity

A visit to the set of HBO's "Girls" is among auction items at Saturday's Lemon Ball at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown to benefit the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. The gala will honor restaurateurs Marc Vetri, Jeff Michaud and Jeff Benjamin for their work on the Great Chefs Event, which aids Alex's and the Vetri Foundation.
