Dan Gross: Pierre Robert's Lucy dies

LUCY, BELOVED golden retriever of 93.3 WMMR DJ Pierre Robert - a pooch met and petted by rock stars that included Judas Priest, Bon Jovi and Chrissy Hynde of the Pretenders - died Friday of multiple organ failure. She was 13 1/2.

The dog had become a station mascot of sorts in recent years, Robert said last night.

He began taking her to work when she began having orthopedic issues a few years ago. She had chiropractic, acupuncture and water-therapy treatments over the years and last week fell very ill, Robert said.

"Dogs are magical creatures. The sad thing is that they don't live terribly long," Robert said.

"Every cliche you ever hear, man's best friend, she was all that and more. She lived a great life."

Wanted: Dancers

After 20 years, "Dancin' on Air" will return to Channel 17 on March 31. This Saturday the show is casting for dancers, ages 17 to 22, from 9 a.m. to noon at The Bayou (4245 Main) in Manayunk.

We reported last month that producer Mike Nise was resurrecting his show, which ran from 1981 to 1987 on Channel 17 before morphing into "Dance Party U.S.A." on USA Network. It went off the air in 1992.

The show will tape at The Fuge in Warminster, the former astronaut-training centerfuge at Johnsville Naval Air Development Center. DJs come from East Coast Events Group, owned by former "Dancin'" host Mike Rossi, now with 92.5 WXTU. 'XTU's sister station Wired 96.5 is now the radio partner of "Dancin' on Air." A.C. OUT AND ABOUT

Where was comedienne Lisa Lampanelli while millions watched her on the premiere of "Celebrity Apprentice" Sunday night? The Queen of Mean performed a sold-out show at the Borgata's Event Center. The day before, actress Megan Hilty, star of NBC's "Smash," relaxed with some girlfriends poolside at the Borgata's Immersion Spa, then picked up a dress from Just Cavalli at the Water Club. Hilty wore her new dress to club mur.mur that night while she and her friends danced off their dinner from Bobby Flay Steak.

Pantano's party

U.S. Rep Bob Brady, electricians union leader John Dougherty and philanthropist Kal Rudman were among those helping 98.1 WOGL's Bob Pantano celebrate the 35th anniversary of his Saturday Night Dance Party at Adelphia (7650 Clements Bridge) in Deptford over the weekend. Billy Paul sang "Me and Mrs. Jones," and Joe Terry and Frank Maffei of Danny and the Juniors performed "At the Hop."

* Congratulations to Palma Lucas, executive director of the Mummers Museum, who was named Mummer of the Year Saturday. Jacky Bam Bam of Golden Sunrise NYA, also a WMMR DJ, praised Lucas, who's part of Golden Fancy, as a "hardworking woman who gives 110 percent in everything she does."
