Dan Gross: 'Mob Wife' to host S. Philly party

DRITA D'AVANZO, of VH1's "Mob Wives," hosts the South Philly Summer Kick-Off party at Galdo's (20th & Moyamensing) May 21.

The Albanian-born D'avanzo, who lives on Staten Island, N.Y., is married to Lee D'avanzo, who is serving time for bank robbery.

But she's not content to let him be seen as the tough one in the family, proclaiming on the first episode, "I beat up a lot of f---ing people."

Kim Kardashian will be in West Chester Sunday night, pitching new items from her K-DASH by Kardashian line on QVC from 7 to 9 p.m.

Charitably minded

Natalie Toro and Ted Levy are among Broadway stars who appeared at Monday's appropriately named Night of Broadway Stars at the Kimmel Center. They helped to raise about $220,000 for the local Covenant House, a shelter for homeless and runaway youth. Composer Neil Berg hosted the show and played the piano during the performance. sylvania Candidates Comedy Night in Wilkes-Barre is now the second offshoot of Daily News columnist Stu Bykofsky's annual Candidates Comedy Night. The Wilkes-Barre event raised money for the GOALS Foundation, promoting youth sports in that area. Byko's event, which will be this summer, for the 21st straight year, raises money for Variety, the children's charity. State Supreme Court Justice Max Baer was the first to borrow Bykofsky's charitable comedy concept.

Honorable mentions

Comcast-Spectacor chairman Ed Snider, who has celiac disease, will introduce a video about Alice Salomon Bast before the president and founder of the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness receives the 90th annual Philadelphia Award Tuesday at the College of Physicians (19 S. 22nd).

Bast's diagnosis of celiac disease fueled her desire to start a foundation to raise awareness, and push for food and restaurants to label items "gluten-free," when applicable, and also work with the FDA to develop standards for gluten-free goods.

* Gloucester County's Dom Fera, 19, just

won the Audience Favorite award at the 2011 National Film Festival for Talented Youth for his Christmas musical comedy, "Deck'd 2."

Last year, "Deck'd" won the same award at the NFFTY, which is for filmmakers age 22 and younger. Fera's award-winning films are on YouTube.

Zee Bar turns 5 tonight

Five DJs from five cities are spinning the fifth-anniversary party of Zee Bar (100 Spring Garden) tonight. Josh Wink, representing Philly, will join with Miami's DJ Konflict, New York's DJ Claudius Raphael, Washington, D.C.'s DJ Enferno, and the Las Vegas drummer/DJ combo of Dustin J. and DJ Presto One, and all will perform. Local singer Katelyn Krapf is in the running of the Avon Voices contest with online voting at avonvoices.com through May 20.
