Dan Deluca's Mix Picks: 'Stop Making Sense', Jaguar Wright, and 'Archer: Dreamland'

Jonathan Demme's great Talking Heads movie, a tribute to Nina Simone, and an animated film noir. Plus, 'Paterson' and new music from Chuck Berry.

Stop Making Sense. The first and greatest of the many very good music movies made by director Jonathan Demme, who died last week at 73.  The playful 1984 "big suit" movie, cleverly shot to pull the viewer in by never showing a crowd shot, and featuring the late, great Bernie Worrell on keys.  Available on iTunes.

Chuck Berry, "Wonderful Woman."  The second single from the late, great rock-and-roll architect's forthcoming Chuck, due June 16. This one features Gary Clark Jr. working a lick reminiscent of "Back in the U.S.A." and reinforces the sense that Berry was working on this album for decades. It doesn't sound like the work of a dying man.

Paterson. Jim Jarmusch's charming indie flick starring Adam Driver as a William Carlos Williams-admiring New Jersey bus driver, featuring a Method Man cameo, a sly Iggy Pop homage, and songs by Tammy Wynette, Killer Mike, and Lester Young. On demand.
