Dan DeLuca's Mix Picks: Dead Milkmen, Trombone Shorty and 'All Big Letters'

Freddy Pompeii benefit with the Dead Milkmen. A benefit for the guitarist of pioneering Canadian punk band the Viletones, who is stricken with cancer. Featuring a rare appearance by proud Philadelphia miscreants the Dead Milkmen, plus a plethora of other punks, including Decontrol and Gibbous Moon. Sunday at Connie's Ric Rac.

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. Carrying on the New Orleans brass and funk party music tradition, trombonist (and trumpet player) Troy Andrews makes Mardi Gras come early, warming up the South Philly stage for the headliners. Opening for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sunday and Monday at Wells Fargo Center.   

All Big Letters. Graffiti photo show with an emphasis on Philadelphia taggers, curated by Vandalog street art blogger RJ Rushmore and featuring documentation by Mural Arts Philadelphia photographer Steve Weinik.
